ABOUT US

Who We Are.

Our storied history.

The Lancaster County Medical Alliance was established on April 24, 1928, originally named, the Lancaster County Medical Auxiliary. The name was changed to the Lancaster County Medical Alliance in April 1993.

Our purpose is to assist the Lancaster County Medical Society (LCMS) physician group  in programs and projects that improve the health and well-being of people in need in Lancaster County, Nebraska. LCMS has been active since 1898 to address community health issues from a leadership perspective, advocating for both physicians and patients.

Through volunteerism and philanthropy, LCMA supports projects of both our state and national alliances to promote health education, research, and health-related community projects.

Made possible by generous donations and  membership engagement, we financially support health-related, charitable endeavors through the LCMS Foundation.

A Message from the President.

Dear LCMA Members,

As we embark on the 2026-2027 year and the 99th anniversary of LCMA, my heart is filled with immense pride and profound gratitude for you—our cherished members.

The year is taking shape with the return of popular events and volunteer opportunities, and we’ll celebrate 25 years of service and partnership with Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach!

The fall kicks off with a New Member Cocktail Hour & Music Bingo (Sept 23), followed by AMI’s Advancing Hope Breast Cancer Walk (Oct 3) benefiting the LCMS Foundation. Be sure to join our team! Then we’ll gather for the LCMA x Blur Events tailgate as the Huskers take on the Buckeyes (Nov 21).

All will be merry and bright as the beloved Holiday Cookie Exchange returns (Dec 14), with a hygiene drive to support the Foster Care Closet. In the spring, we celebrate our 3rd annual Triple Crown Benefit Derby Party (May 1), a not-to-be-missed event!

Last year, we reached new heights in philanthropy and community impact, raising $18,000 to support the Katherine Elise Gogela, MD Memorial Scholarship Fund at UNMC, collecting over 1,000 hygiene products for Tower of Tampons, and serving nearly 400 hot meals to those in need.

Whether you join us for social events to strengthen the bonds of friendship or volunteer to expand access to health and wellness for underserved Nebraskans, thank you for embodying an unparalleled spirit of community.

Kindest Regards,

Stephanie Davis Wallace, PhD
